Westow Walk - Sunday 5th May 2013

A fund raising walk was held at Westow on Sunday 5th May where a choice of two routes were on offer; 1. approximately 1 hour which took you along in tracks through the local woodlands and 2. approximately 2.5 hours which took you along tracks, fields roads etc.

We had to meet at the village hall where we were given a map by the organisers Julie and Pam who logged everybody out and in, they were serving refreshments throughout the day. Our cost was a donation towards the village community sports pavillion, well worth it. We belive there were about 30 walkers in all who all enjoyed the walks.

We took the longer route and it was a brilliant walk which took us through winding tracks, woodland areas etc. the views were fantastic. we stopped for a picknic halfway around and enjoyed the views at the top near Levening. At that point we were caught up by Christine our local post Lady with her friend and dog.

Once we got back to the Westow Village Hall we were met with a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Julie one of the organisers emailed me later to say that "over £250 had been raised and donations are still coming in. Thank you for supporting this event. Your help in raising funds for our pavillion is much appreciated."
