Rewela Cottage Visit Thursday July 5th 2012

Green Finger Tips Gardenening Club

Our visit to Rewela Cottage on Thursday July 5th turned out to be a very successful one, the welcome and guidance around this spectacular garden from John Plant & Daphne Ellis was second to none.

The talented owners of Rewela Cottage in Skewsby, near Brandsby have transformed what was once a 3/4 acre paddock which was in the owners words, a completely "blank canvas” ... 15 years later it has turned into a wonderful and creatively designed mature country garden full of unusual plants and suprise - Our visit allowed us to wander around this 3/4 acre garden.

Unusual trees & shrubs, pond, pergola, sunken garden, breeze house, raised vegetable garden etc. you never knew what to expect around the corner!

There were many unusual sights and potting areas, as you walk through a mature shrub & tree area it opens up into the vegetable section, all meticulously labelled and controlled.

Closer to the house was a pond and patio area where we were treated to a delicious range of cakes and drinks.

In all a worthwhile visit hosted by two very pleasant people.
